NAC Report Mundesley 17th June 2019
14 anglers arrived at Mundesley on a lovely warm evening, pegging was left and right with the center bay left free for swimmers. Fishing was fairly slow with weed being an issue up and over high water, but once the ebb started the weed disappeared. First cast and first blood fell to Ian Childerhouse with a hound at 79cm, this turned out to be his only sizeable fish but was enough to secure 3rd place, with 1 fish for 5lb 1 1/3oz, 2nd place went to Russell Taylor also with 1 hound for 5lb 8oz, but it was John Harvey who took the top spot with a better hound of 87cm for 7lb 4oz, with the top 3 all catching a single hound each, i must mention 4th place Simon Bottomley who had 3 fish for 1lb 10 1/3oz, if the hounds hadn’t turned up he would have won the match with his 2 flounders and for him a first ever sole at 27cm, he also took heaviest flatfish with a flounder at 32cm, heaviest round went to John Harvey with his 87cm hound.
A lovely evening on the beach even if the fishing wasn’t great.
Next weeks match is at Kelling.
