NAC Match Report Kelling 24th June 2019

NAC Report 24th June Kelling 2019
16 anglers for tonight’s match at Kelling pegging was left and right of the gate, as always with Kelling if your on the right peg you will catch and someone next to you may blank or struggle its really just the lay of the land and where the fish congregate, but that’s the luck of the draw. Either way the evening was beautiful with light winds and gentle roll on the sea and a fantastic sunset so the fish really were not that important for some.
Top rod on the evening was Roger Cunnington carding 15 fish for 4lb 1 1/3oz, 2nd place went to Russell Taylor with 7 fish for 3lb 12 1/3oz and final podium spot went to Ian Childerhouse with 14 fish for 2lb 14oz.
95 fish were carded between us and no one blanked.
Last match of the season is the club open at Sutton Bridge 12 noon til 5pm

NAC Match Report Mundersley 17th June 2019

NAC Report Mundesley 17th June 2019

14 anglers arrived at Mundesley on a lovely warm evening, pegging was left and right with the center bay left free for swimmers. Fishing was fairly slow with weed being an issue up and over high water, but once the ebb started the weed disappeared. First cast and first blood fell to Ian Childerhouse with a hound at 79cm, this turned out to be his only sizeable fish but was enough to secure 3rd place, with 1 fish for 5lb 1 1/3oz, 2nd place went to Russell Taylor also with 1 hound for 5lb 8oz, but it was John Harvey who took the top spot with a better hound of 87cm for 7lb 4oz, with the top 3 all catching a single hound each, i must mention 4th place Simon Bottomley who had 3 fish for 1lb 10 1/3oz, if the hounds hadn’t turned up he would have won the match with his 2 flounders and for him a first ever sole at 27cm, he also took heaviest flatfish with a flounder at 32cm, heaviest round went to John Harvey with his 87cm hound.

A lovely evening on the beach even if the fishing wasn’t great.

Next weeks match is at Kelling.

NAC Match Report Walcott 3rd June 2019

NAC Report Monday 3rd June Walcott
15 anglers fished Mondays match at Walcott , starting half an hour earlier than normal fishing the last hour of the flood and over high water. Pegging was right if the slip, what was immediately noticeable for those who have fished this venue before was the sand build up which is almost to the top of the promenade. This venue was the scene of last weeks hound fest with loads of fish coming out throughout the day, but with the may weed and red weed in the water expectations were not high, but as always spirits and banter was.
From the 15 anglers who fished only 6 anglers managed to find sizeable fish, top rod on the evening with one hound at 79cm was John Catchpole with 5lb 1 1/3oz, second podium spot went to Roger Cunnington with 2 fish for 1lb 2 2/3oz including a nice 33cm flounder, final podium spot went to Simon Bottomley also with 2 fish for 14 2/3oz. A tough night for many lets hope the weed thins out for next weeks match at Mundesley.
Heaviest flat went to Roger Cunnington 33cm flounder and heaviest round went to John Catchpole 79cm hound.
