NAC Report 18-12-17 Salthouse

The last NAC match before Christmas, 15 anglers turned out for an epic battle at Salthouse, with tonight’s match being a length only match high numbers of fish were expected, and we were not disappointed, from the first cast to the last doubles & trebles of dabs, and whiting , with the biggest about 36cm and 30cm dabs mostly in healthy condition.
There was a slight lump on the sea but wind was minimal and temperatures hovered around the 2 degrees, almost bikini weather, pegging was left and right. 336 fish were carded for a total length of 8338cm a thoroughly hectic evening enjoyed by all.

Top rod on the night was Russell Taylor with 36 fish for 902cm, second place goes to the currently on form Adrian Bordianu with 33 fish for 883cm, and final podium spot went to the ever consistent Simon Bone who really should learn to fish till the whistle is blown (bad lad). Biggest flat again was shared between Will Sprules & John Catchpole both with a specimen of 30cm, and the biggest round went to Will Sprules with a nice 36cm whiting.

Next match is the 8th of January at Kelling, but many members are fishing throughout the Christmas period so please post up in group if your planning to go somewhere.

January 12th at 7pm is the AGM membership monies will be collected on the night from those who attend. All members should attend this if possible as it is your once a year chance to put proposals forward and select a committee, a raffle will also take place so please bring a bottle etc.

On a personal note I would like to thank everyone for your continued support of the shop and events that the club runs, we really do have a fantastic club, with some excellent anglers who have come along way in the 4 years the club has been going.
Merry Christmas to you all and I hope to see you over the Christmas period and good luck to all the club members traveling down to the Asso two dayer in January see you all there.

NAC Report 4th December Kelling

Another great turnout for the NAC with 19 anglers assembling for what was expected to be a hectic match, with the recent heavy seas now calming there should be an abundance of fish, we were not disappointed as the results will show.

Pegging was again left and right of the main gate and from the off fish were coming in all along the match stretch, albeit with a mixture of sizable and undersized.

Welcome to new member James Ward Bishop, and nice to see guest anglers like Paul Kendrick making an appearance, remember everyone is welcome to come and fish as a guest and see if you wish to join in the new year.

Anyway on with the results in 3rd place with 18 fish for 7lb 1 1/3oz was Henry Randell on peg 6 who also had a nice whiting at 38cm giving him heaviest round for the night. 2nd place was Ian Childerhouse on peg 18 with 25 fish for 8lb 12oz, but taking top rod honours this week was Adrian Bordianu on peg 17 also with 25 fish for 10lb 10oz. Heaviest flatfish of the night was shared between Kimberley Lawn and Will Sprules with a 30cm dab each.

260 sizeable fish were recorded and returned between 19 of us, not to mention the amount of undersized fish that were also caught and returned, once slack water came most of us were glad of the break of action.

Well done to everyone that fished not a blank card across the match stretch but once again Kelling shows that at this time of year if conditions are right you can expect hectic competition.
