30/11/2015 Old High

Monday Night league 30/11/15 Old High

16 eager anglers turned up most of which were early who got a good soaking before even getting to the beach and one angler in particuar that had to peg was especially damp….. Conditions were dry once we started to fish but rather windy. Sea had a bit of chop on and weed was there but not in force just enough to get stuck on the leader knot. All along the beach the whiting were coming in thick and fast with some good ones thrown in. In total 126 sizable fish were caught and all of them were whiting i guess no other fish stood a chance at finding the bait!! In 3rd place with 12 fish for 4lb 7oz was Charlie. In second place was Gary with a cracking 15 fish for 5lb 14oz2/3. And taking top spot was Leon with 16 fish for 6lb 2oz2/3. Next week we are at Walcott meeting at the carpark bit on the wall. As always book in on here or via the shop and same for bait orders. Anyone wishing to renew their membership can do so on at the next match. Its £10 for the year and starts as of January.

23/11/2015 Trimingham

Monday Night League Trimingham 23/11/15

16 anglers arrived at Trimingham eager to know wherther the blow up over the weekend had brought the Cod in. With plenty of colour in the water we knew the fishing had to be better. Although no cod were caught ther were some good whiting to be had including a few up to 34cm. Reports of weed on the flood were true but we fished the ebb and weed was no problem till near the end of the match but even then it wasn’t that bad. Pegging was to the left of the slip with a few over rough ground meaning that some lost a few sets of gear. The weather held off for the first half of the match then the rain set in and stayed till the end. In total 88 sizable fish were caught mostly made up of Whiting, Dabs, flounder and a late Sole as well. Of the 88 fish just over a 1/4 that were landed were do so by one angler, the overall winner on peg 1 was Russell Taylor with a 24 fish for 8lb 4oz. In second place proving he isn’t just a fresh water fisherman was Dave Aldridge with 9 fish for 3lb 8oz. And taking the final podium was Hamza with 7 fish for 2lb 15oz1/3. Next weeks match is due to be Sheringham but we were thinking about changing it to Old High as we havent got it on the calender for this year. What are peoples thoughts? will make a decison by tomorrow afternoon and post on here.

16/11/2015 Great Yarmouth

Monday Night League South Beach Gt Yarmouth 16/11/15
10 anglers ventured down south the Gt Yarmouth behind the pleasure beach for a length only match. Weather was predicted to be terriable all night but really only kicked in halfway through the match. Sea was fairly calm and with mixed reports as to what had been coming out it would be a surpirse as to what we were going to catch. It was decided that we would all fish together not pegged meaning that the ever increasing banter between 2 memebers could flurish. From the off there were fish some in size and some out. How the guy that was leaving as we arrived only had 2 fish is beyond me. Whiting and Dabs were caught with a PB Sole for Hippo at 37cm turning up just at the right moment when he had lost all hope of beating Russell but that still wasn’t good enough. So on to the results. In 3rd place with 7 fish for a total length of 199cm was Pete H. In second place with 216cm was Russell. And overall champ on the night was Andy Turk taking a clear lead with 9 fish for 254cm. Well done and thank you to all wjo attened. Next week we are at Trimingham and looks like it will be perfect for Cod. As usual book in here or via the shop please.

9/11/2015 Bacton

Monday Night league Bacton 9/11/15
12 anglers turned up to castaways for what we knew was going to be a hard match with the wind being in the wrong direction for past few days. As predicted it was flat and clear. Pegging was to the right beyond the revetments as the water was too high up to fish at bottom were the steps were. From the off there was a few small fish caught some put back and the odd few carded. There was a firce battle between Russell and Hippo but it was Russell that had to settle with 3rd place with 3 fish for 1lb 6oz which included a last cast Sole at 28cm. Second place Hippo with 6 fish for 1lb 8oz2/3. Taking top spot honours with a rather later in the season Bass was Leon Smith with 4 fish for 2lb 10oz2/3. Next week we are at South Beach Gt Yarmouth. Meet at the end of the Pleasure beach. Length only match, Should be full of whiting!! As always let me know on here or via the shop if you can make it and if you need any bait.

2/11/2015 Sea Palling

Monday Night League Sea Palling 02/11/15
12 anglers met up at the slip at Sea Palling in what I can only descirbe as the worst fog I have ever fished in!! For most this was a new venue and with the previous high mark close to the wall we were cauitous to make sure had an escape off the beach. Once at are pegs it was a little weird as we could hear the sea but not see it until you had walked right up to it. Most anglers could find some undersize dabs, flounder, whiting a few Bass. A few fish were carded but it was hard going. As the night went on the fog had lifted and by the end you could see the other end of the pegs which at the start you could barely see the one next to you!!. So on to the results. In third place with 3 fish for 14oz was Russell Taylor. In second place with 2 fish for 1lb 1oz2/3 was Mike Ranson. And taking top spot 2 weeks in a row was Kimberley Lawn with 4 fish for 1 lb 2oz2/3. Thanks to all who turned up and gave it a go maybe it will fish better right after a good stir up. Next week we are at Bacton so as always booking in and bait orders on here or via the shop.
