28/9/2015 Sheringham

23 anglers hit the beach, with thoughts of bass in their head.
We soon realised with dismay the beach was dead.
With the odd pin whiting and tiny dabs
and loads of annoying bloody crabs.
Only four anglers carded with just one fish each.
It seemed the fish were out of reach.
Peter Hansell took top honours with a whiting of 30 centimetre’s
2nd spot to Darren and Ron with a dab and flounder , neither eaters.
Mike Ranson was third with a last cast dab to save the blank
But for everyone else the night was w…………. wubbish
Well done to all who carded and especially to Darren Thompson and Ron Storey with their first podium spots
Next weeks match is at Mundesley and its a pairs match so please book in asap, if you have not got a pairs partner yet it will be sorted on the night.

21/9/2015 Bacton

21st September NAC Monday Night League Report
Bacton was tonight’s venue for the 3rd match of the season, with several members still away 15 of us turned up at Castaways Holiday Park, due to the pegs being left at Heacham last week, we decided to fish this as a roving match, down the steps and find a spot wherever you fancied, bait packs were supplied to all members making this match about bait management and your own skill set.
With the rain coming in intermittent showers the steps over the revetments were extremely slippy and after the chairman Dean Gibson showed us all how not to do it, extra care was taken by other members. Well done to Russell Taylor and Steve Smith for helping Gibbo back off the beach with his gear and a somewhat bruised back and ego, its really amazing the lengths he will go to not to fish the sand! Hope your feeling better Gibbo from all the club members.
Anyway on to the report, we had two new members fishing tonight Jamie Tuffs and Ron StRon Story
Jamie Tuffsorey, firstly welcome to the club and hope you enjoyed your first match with us albeit a wet one.
First fish of the evening was a slack line bite for Russell Taylor who promptly reeled in a 6lb plus smoothie and a whiting giving him a massive 320 pts for one fish, he could easily have walked off the beach and sat in his van until end of play with a score like that but always wanting more Russell continued to build on his lead and easily took top rod honors this week with 410pts with 5 fish for 8lb 8 2/3oz, in the same bay Dene Conway was steadily catching and managed 8 fish for 140pts giving him 2lb 14 2/3oz for 2nd place podium spot.
Also in same bay was Peter Hansell who started his catches off with a fantastic 36cm sole , followed by dabs and whiting, and with 4 fish and 104pts for 2lb 2 2/3oz he secured 3rd place.
It was good to see the size able whiting and some cracking dabs and flounders but even nicer to see were at least 3 good sized sole coming out and of course Russell’s hound.
Well done to all who fished, next weeks match is back on home turf at Sheringham hope to see everyone there.

14/9/2015 Heacham

Monday Night League 14/09/15 Heacham
14 anglers arrived early at Heacham which for most would be a new venue. When we first arrived the sea was calm and there was little wind. But that all changed rather quickly with the wind picking up and for those without shelter it would be a bit tougher. The main target would be flounders and eels and maybe the odd bass now that the wind had picked up. Unfortunately there was no Bass but the weed had decided to turn up instead, for some a nightmare and for others not that bad. The flounders proved to be a bit hard to find and for some they eluded them completely. Over all there was 21 fish caught of which 5 were eels, the rest flounders. On to the results, in thirrd place was local to the beach Ron with 4 fish for 2lb 1oz. In second place was Steve with 3 fish for 2lb 2oz2/3. Taking top spot was Luke with 5 fish for 2lb 15oz. A big thank you to Charlie for helping out and walking up and down the beach making sure we were all ok. Next week we are at Bacton and this is a bait pack match so if you wish to fish please contact the shop or message Dene as I am off to Chesil !!

7/9/2015 Trimingham

Monday Night League 07/09/15 Trimingham
16 anglers turned up for the first match of the season. The pairs draw was done at the start of the match and witnessed by those that fished. Once the draw was done it was time to get on the beach. Conditions looked promising with a lovely set of roller and on shore breeze. Everyone was just hoping that the weed would not interfere as its been bad on the sand for a while now. From the off the tide pull was a good one with in seconds of casting your line swung around but its ok as everyone’s was doing it!! It was only as it went into darkness that a few fish decided to join the party with a few miniature Bass showing and Adam bringing in a rather snotty tangled rig with only one culprit that could have been. First to land a sizable fish was Iain M with an eel (maybe the one that got away from Adam) and it wasn’t till near the end of the match that a few whiting started to show. Unfortunately there was only 4 carded fish but as always still an enjoyable match. So in third place with 1 fish for 7oz1/3 was Paul R. In second place was Iain M with 1 fish for 10oz. And taking top spot and Currently leading the league was Pete D with 2 fish for 14oz. Well done to everyone it wasn’t an easy match. Next week we are at Heacham South Beach. the match will start at 1830 so meet at 6, more details to follow soon from Charlie.
