Kelling 29/06/15
So the final match in the season and it being fairly tight at the top for points it took place on Kelling beach with 23 attending it was set to be a pleasant evening with the sun shining and the sea flat calm it was decided that if anyone fancied a bit of fluff chucking at same time for the mackerel then they could but would not count in the points. From the start one end of the line seemed to have weed and the other didn’t proving to be a nightmare for some. Early on in the match it was Scottish International Joc that was fist on the fish getting a 50cm Bass with the help of Wayne. For everyone else it was flatties that would be giving the points but finding them in size wasn’t easy. But with that Bass and 4 other fish on the card it would be Joc that took top spot with 5 fish for 3lb 13oz 1/3. In second place was the chairman himself Mr Gibbo with 5 fish for 2lb 1oz 1/3. And in third place was Leon Smith with 6 fish for 1lb 15oz 1/3. Well done to everyone for attending and thank you for a great season of fishing. We will still be fishing during the two month gap but they will not be league matches just socials but if anyone wishes to have a side bet on then go for it. Check on here or call the shop to find out where and when we will be fishing during the next 2 months.

22/6/2015 Sutton Bridge

Sutton Bridge 22/06/15
14 anglers arrived at Sutton bridge which for a few would be the first time fishing in the estuary. with the tide out it was clear the mud and rocks may cause some issues on the retrieve with multiple sets of gear lost. conditions were not great due to the amount of rain that there had been beforehand. A few anglers made friends with a seal barking at it as it wondered up and down. So on to the results as expected eels and flounder were the main catch and in third place with 2 fish was Pete H with 1lb 4oz. In second place was Russell with 3 fish for 1lb 9oz 1/3. But taking top spot honours again was Wayne with 4 fish for 1lb 11oz1/3. Next week we are at Kelling which is the last match of the season so hope to see as many of you as possible. We will still be fishing during the summer as social events including a mackerel bash and BBQ once they show up in numbers.
As always please book in on here or via the shop

15/6/2015 Salthouse

Salthouse 15/6/15
27 anglers showed up including a few holiday makers and visiting friends to Salthouse to what would prove to be a hard match and true to form Salthouse lived up to its other name. After a slight cock up on the pegging everyone was to the right of the road. from the start the weed was a bit of a pain and most opted to look for the big flounders close in. A few were rewarded but most didn’t even see a fish all night. out of the 27 who fished only 10 managed to card. In third place this week was the Bass Charmer Wayne who managed to find a sizeable schoolie Bass giving him 1 fish for 1lb 1oz. In second place was Gary with 2 fish for 1lb 7oz2/3. And in top spot was the chairman himself Gibbo managed to find 3 fish for 1lb 9oz2/3. Well done for all for sticking it out and not giving up hope. Next week we are at King Lynn/Sutton Bridge so please make sure you book in at the shop or on here so we can arrange car sharing.

8/6/2015 Kelling

Kelling 8/6/15
21 anglers turned up to Kelling nice and early for what felt more like a winters evening than a summers eve. The sea was choppy with a cold NE wind and the weed was a bit of a pain from the start but eased off later on. It was clear that the fish were close in with big flounders showing up early on then a steady stream of small flatties followed for most. It was in the last half hour that it would decide final placing’s as the pouting showed up in numbers. In total 58 fish were carded of which 26 were pouting. In 3rd place was the consistent Wayne with 4 fish for 2lb 8oz 2/3. 2nd Place went to relatively new member Russell Baker with 7 fish for 2lb 10oz 2/3. Finally in first place was Leon Smith with a cracking 9 fish for 3lb 1oz. Well done to everyone that fished next week we are at Satlhouse hope to see you there!!

1/6/2015 Cley

Cley 1/6/15
With strong winds and rain forescast it would be a long night and for those who dared to stay out in it won. 20 anglers arrived at cley to a very clean flat looking sea. From the start it was obvisous most would target flatties with rod tips low to keep out of the wind. But doing this did mean the weed was a bit of a problem. Dabs appeared for some and for many the fish totally eluded them all together resulting in half the group not carded at all. It was in the last half hour that the match was won and done so in style. With 4 bass for a total of 8lb 12oz 2/3 was Wayne who managed to catch a mackerel on worm which unfortunately doesn’t count. The fight for second and third place was a flattie bash but it was Russell who came out on top with 6 fish for 1lb 15oz1/3. And in third place was Steve with 5 fish for 1lb 8oz 2/3. Well done to everyone that attended and braved it. Next week we are at Kelling hope to see you there!!
