27/4/2015 Mundesley

Monday night league Mundesley 27/04/15
18 anglers turned up ready and raring to go on the sand with the pegging to the left. With reports of plenty of Bass and Smoothhound showing it was set to be a good match. Once on the beach it was clear to see that the sea looked Bassy with a nice set of rollers and plenty of colour to it. 2 Bass where caught on first cast one for Mark Batson at 46cm shortly followed by Kimberley with a 50cm. It was clear that Bass would win it and with a few more coming out it was only a matter of centimetres that would separate 3rd and 4th positions. Flounders and dabs turned up and saved a few from blanking. There was 6 bass caught but only 5 anglers caught them so it was obvious that more than one bass and you would win it. In 3rd place with 1 fish was Mark Batson with 2lb 2/3oz. In second place was Simon Bone with a 50cm Bass and a flounder giving him 2lb 15oz2/3. But well out in the lead and showing the men how its done with 5 fish including a 1lb flounder 2 other flounders and 2 bass was Kimberley Lawn with 6lb 14oz. Next week we are at Kelling so please book in via the shop or on here and meet at the gate at 6pm.

20/4/2015 Sheringham

Monday night league Sheringham 20/04/15
22 anglers turned up to Sheringham boulevard ready and raring to go. with a nice lump on the water it looked Bassy and with reports of a few showing up and down the coast it looked like it would be Bass all round. Unfortunately the Bass were not notified of our match and failed to show up other than a small schoolie at 33cm for The Coach. In total only 31 sizable fish were caught. So on to the result. It was our newest junior Hamza Borden that took 3rd place with 4 fish for 1lb 5oz 1/3. In second place was Barry Iseton with 5 fish for 1lb 14oz 1/3. and Finally in top spot was the sneaky dark horse that is Paul Rickard who managed to catch a Doggie and 2 other sizable fish giving him 2lb 6oz. Well done to everyone it was a hard venue. Next week we are back on the sand at Mundesley so meet at the car park on seafront next to the arcades.

Monday night league 13/04/15 Bacton
18 angler a turned up to castaways on what was to be a very pleasant evening. Sea was flat and had some colour to it. Back on the sand for the first time in a while pegging was to the left of the steps and the lower numbered pegs either side of the pipe. From off there were undersize fish for some and before it got dark Richard Chapman was the first to find a decent sized dogfish and so take the lead. Not long after though it was Leon Smith who managed to find a dogfish and bagging a second and a whiting was to seal him first place with 3 fish for 3lb 13oz 1/3. Second place went to Simon Bone who managed to find a 42cm which gave him 1 fish for 1lb 14oz. Finally third place went to Russell Taylor who was very pleased with his dogfish giving him 1 fish for 1lb 6oz. Thank you and well done to everyone who turned up and fished wasnt easy finding a sizeable fish and hope to see you next week at Sheringham Boulevard.

6/4/2015 Old High Sheringham

NAC Monday night league Old High 06/04/15
24 anglers including 3 juniors turned up early and raring to go. With reports of codling coming out all along the shingle tonight promised to be a good night. Before the night had even started there was a long walk for Mr Turk who forgot his headlight and had to walk all the way back. From the off the crabs were an issue with in seconds of your bait being out the crabs had pinched it many times the crab were brought in but there was a true monster of a crab that was brought in by Barry. True to his form Russell ticked off another unusual species managing to land a Lobster. Whiting were the main target with a few chunky ones caught. With the shout of a codling had come out most thought that would win it but in the end it was a battle of the dogfish. The winner of the match managed to catch a dogfish at 64cm and 3 other fish which was Eamon Finch with 3lb 7oz 1/3. 2nd place was Dean Gibson with 2 dogfish giving him 3lb. And finally in third place was Charlie Needham with 2 fish for 2lb 4oz 2/3. Well done to everyone that turned up it was a pleasant evening and hope to see you all next week at Bacton meeting at the Castaways holiday camp.
